No, this X431 V bluetooth do not need match. Just open it and connect the diagnostic adapter with your car, then bluetooth will automatically matched ready, no need you to do it by hand.

This X431 V is designed on the basis of diagun iii, pro and IV. Compared with IV, this one new adds more functions. For BMW model as the example: this V new adds Idle learning, Fuel injection rate adjustment, battery replacement reset, EGR and so on. While IV does not have these functions for BMW. So for BMW models, this V is better than IV.
