Description:
VCM IDS (VCM) is a high performance, rugged, vehicle serial communications gateway. This device provides multiple vehicle serial communication interfaces to meet the requirements of all Ford Motor Company vehicles.
The VCM unit is housed in a magnesium enclosure with a tough, protective, plastic cover for the PCMCIA expansion slot which can, for example, be used for wireless LAN cards or memory expansion.
The VCM device contains five LED status indicators to provide the user with a visual mode of internal VCM, vehicle, and host device (e.g. NGS Classic's T-Handle, PC, Pocket PC/PDS, and Laptop/IDS) operation.
The VCM also has detachable cables for connection to industry standard high-speed host interfaces as well as to the vehicle under test.
The VCM DVD includes both IDS (Integrated Diagnostic Software) and PDS (Portable Diagnostic Software) tools.
Diagnostic coverage includes most 1996 2011MY (produced 1995 2007) Ford, Lincoln/Mercury & Mazda vehicles.
It can do four car model. IDS for Ford and Mazda, JLR for Jaguar and Landrover

Application Overview
Integrated Diagnostic Software (IDS) is the next generation diagnostic tool. IDS integrates WDS software modified to run on an off-the-shelf laptop with the Vehicle Communication Module (VCM) currently used in NGS+ and PDS, and a new Vehicle Measurement Module (VMM).
Vehicle Diagnostic Connectors
The VCM 16-pin DLC cable is used to connect the VCM to the vehicle. The VCM and VMM connect to the laptop through the inthernet-USB Adapter Cable (H406/H416).
Interface Devices
The interface devices that are used with this application are:
VCM Vehicle Communication Module: This device provides all link based functionality including: Data logger, Self test, Service Functions, Module Configuration and Programming, etc.
Special feature:
It can install IDS software and JLR software on one computer. Through a convert software, can realize software convert from IDS and JLR. It is free update through internet.
Working car year?
This machine can do ford and mazda old and new cars, no year limitation. For jaguar and landrover,it can only do after 2005 year. It will ask for pin code for ford cars before 2009 when you do key programming. After 2010, it do not need pin code.
hardware and software requirements on installation:
1.1 Please install IDS and JLR to Local Disk C
IDS software is for Ford and Mazda, and it must be installed to
Local Driver C;
JLR software is for Jaguar and Land Rover, and
Local Driver C is also required.
Moreover,
at least 15G available space is required on your Local Driver C when installing the software
1.2 Requirements on computer configuration
Computer memory: at least 1GB
CPU: at least 1GHz
Netbooks (ULPC:Ultra low-cost PC) not allowed
1.3 Requirements on computer USB interface
Every laptop has more than one USB ports, one of them is the MAIN PORT, and others are AUXILIARY PORT, please make sure the USB port works and use MAIN PORT
1.4 Requirements on computer operating system
For computer operation system, please use Windows XP(sp2 or sp3) professional Edition 32-Bit.
Home Edition and other systems are not allowed
1.5. Need install the convert software and follow the instruction.
Note that the application will detect the interface device that is connected to the laptop. Indicator icons will appear at the bottom right-hand corner of the IDS screen when the VCM are connected.

Q: This software needs to be installed on drive (C:) and at least 15G space left, my question is my computer drive (C:) is only 6G memory available, can i install it on drive D instead, is it OK?
A: No. Please do as the requirement, otherwise software cannot be installed or run successfully.
Q: One day, software prompt me "License is only 2 days left", does it mean it will not work after two days?
A: No. Reinstall the "License" of the CD. Then you can use it again. This software does not have time limitation.
Q: I have the IDS, can i buy your VCM and use together with my IDS?
A: No. If the device are made by different factory, they maybe not compatible. If you use them together, sometimes device will be broken.
Q: Can i install all software ford, mazda, JLR on the same computer? Or which software can be installed on the same computer?
A: Please install them on different computers. Some customers can install Ford and JLR on same computer, for most customers, they cannot install the different software on the same computer.
Q: When i use the old version IDS V79 software, it asks me to update it. Then i update it, update lasts 1 hours still not finish. What should i do?
A: Just ignore it. For software update, we will release the new software like when new software comes out. You can directly download the new software then install it. For detailed information, see technical support.
Q: I want italian language. Do i need to leave the message to tell you when i place the order? Or i can switch the language when i use it?
A: This software is multi-language. When you install the software, choose the language you want. After software is installed ready, software cannot be switched.
Q: How about the diagnose function for this item?
A: The diagnose function is very well. Can do four cars. If you do not know how to upload this software, please send email to us,we will provide best techinical service.
Q: When i install mazda and jaguar software, do i need to install the license? I see "password calculator" on ford CD, what is this used for?
A: Yes. You need to install the license. For key programming, needs the code information. Password calculator is used for calculate the incode.
Q: My crack file is failed when executed, what should i do?
A: Crack file on software is the license. Before you install the license, please close or uninstall the anti-virus software first. Or software and license will be killed. After you install the software ready, then run license. For your problem. After you install the software VCM ready, restart your computer, then install license. Attention, when you install license, make sure VCM software is closed, otherwise license cannot be installed successfully.
Q: Can i use VCM to change the VIN?
A: Yes. But it needs you have the knowledge or skill about it. We do not provide the tranning.
Q: Does Ford VCM support PCM initialization for Mazda RX8 2006?
A: yes, our VCM support PCM initialization for Mazda up to 2010.
Q: Does your VCM have VMM?
A: No. It does not have.
Q: Can i use the VCM to read the data flow?
A: Yes. But please choose 1-3 option. If you open more function at the same time, software will be stuck.
Q: What is the latest cars models this tool works with?
A: VCM V86 works with both old and new ford and Mazda cars models, and works with landrover and rang rover from 2005-2010 year.

Here is the solution for some problem that customers meet. There is the installation video on our CD. Keep the same step to install the software, then you will not get problem. If you meet the following error, please use our way to solve it.
1. After i install the V85 and V134 software ready, i cannot I can not go into programming modules.
VCM programming menu is lost. Give me "Selection is not avaliable" prompt. Software is shown as the following photo:
Solution: Here is the software of
ExtendProgramming. Download this software, then release it. Then run the two program on your computer.
after doing that, you can use this software normally.
2: When usage, some customers will get the update prompt. For update, here we will give you the full instruction:
VCM Software update:
VCM has two pieces of CD, one is for IDS software, the other one is for JLR software, and they are updated separately. Once the newest software comes out, we will announce you the download link or send you CD if needed, please download and setup by following the next update steps:
1). enter IDS (Ford and Mazda),
2). open the folder stored with update software;
3). close IDS software;
4). run IDSPatch.exe in the IDS-License Software;
5). update ok, click exit;
6). Supply power for Ford VCM main head;
7). connect Ford VCM with the computer;
8). open the software, click to update;
9). "update", then click "OK".
VCM IDS update file
1). Convert service to JLR (Jaguar & Land Rover);
2). close JLR software;
3). open the JLR-License Software to run JLR License.EXE
4). update ok, click exit.
VCM Firmware Update:
When you get message to update firmware, click "update" with disconnecting to the network.
3. I do not remember if i install the license or not, software ask me the ID and password. I need to reinstall it again?
You do not install the license. Follow the video to install the license. If you still meet this prompt, then change another computer to install the software, your computer is not compatible with the JLR software. This software has requirement for computer: JLR software requires Windows XP(sp2 or sp3) professional Edition 32-Bit, Computer memory: at least 1GB, CPU: at least 1GHz, Netbooks (ULPC:Ultra low-cost PC) not allowed.
4 I have installed all the software on lisence patch, but when i open IDS license file, it promt me "Windows cannot access the specified device, pat, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."
From your photo, we can see your patch file cannot be run normally. This is the system problem. This VCM software is not compatible with your system. Please use professional XP system. Another information: When run vcm patch, installed vcm ids software cannot be open.
Whether Ford VCM IDS supports making keys?
Ford VCM supports programming key for Ford & Mazda, when programming keys, it asks incode with outcode, then our customers have to buy an additional Ford Outcode/Incode Calculator to calculate incode.
