Case 1- add key lost for W221
- I bought EIS W221 lock with a key from the lock from one machine. I have read the PSW. I will make a complete loss of W221 key in the future?
- you have uesedd/ 2nd-hand EIS with working key,you can do like this for W221 all key lost
1.read all key lost EIS data-> save EIS data
2.read used EIS data enter password,get erase password->renew used EIS.
3.load step1 EIS data to renewed EIS with password->write EIS data
4.load EIS data(with key password)->prepare key file
5.input new key to device IR reader->load key file->write
6.insert new key to EIS->EIS will learn the new key->key learn success
by the way, if your all key lost W221 is motorola EIS,not need to change EIS, remove eis get eeprom by programmer (VVDI PROG).

-I have a w204 All key lost and i program a new EIS with VVDI, the ignition doesn't come on or crank, but the steering can lock and unlock. can someone guide me what to do?
- about W204 all key lost(change new EIS), refer to following steps,maybe helpful:

Reading EIS data
Password calculation:
Step 1 - select working key, communicate mode and chassis
Warning: this operation should perform on the bench
Step 2 - press “Data acquisition” to start with the following steps:
1) connect device OBD line to cable OBD head on the bench
2) connect IR adapter to VVDI MB Tool
3) data acquisition
4) 50% complete
5) 100% complete
6) save acquisition data
Step 3 - press “Update data” to send acquisition data
Step 4 - press “Query result” to get result
Warning:
1 this operation needs about 2.5 hours. Don’t perform this operation on the car
2 connect EIS to correct cable before continue
3 don’t connect ESL to cable
Attention:
Connect EIS with correct cable on the bench. Don’t connect ESL.
Connect device OBD line to cable OBD head
NOT CAR OBD
4.How to update VVDI MB TOOL firmware?
Connect VVDI MB TOOL to PC with USB cable
Run VVDI MB TOOL V2.1.6, then choose firmware version 2.1.6 from Firmware List
Press button Update Online, wait the progress end
If failed to get firmware list or get something like “communicate with server error!” while update your device, close antivirus and firewall programs, try again. Change your internet provider once failed again
Note: DON’T shutdown your PC or disconnect USB cable while update device
5.Buyer Talks: VVDI MB adds new keys & ESL unlocked
Thread: I have added an extra key to 2 separate 2005 E classes with
VVDI-MBBoth the original key stopped starting the vehicle.
The remote on the original key works, but will not turn in ignition.
New key works fine.
How can I prevent this from happening in the future?
Maf Raoaf i used data acquisition on
VVDI-MB it asked me to put original key in eis a few times then into the VVDI MB tool for 10 mins. then uploaded data for password.
Martin Atkinson I had this with a vito van, I just renewed the customers key and wrote a new key file to it, took 5 mins max
Maf Raoaf I think that is because during your online process, the ESL did not open while inserting the original key into EIS. You should wait or insert it many times till ESL is opened, so that the process would complete successfully.
Martin Atkinson Do you mean leave the original key in the ignition to activate it again?
Maf Raoaf No dear, I mean, at each stage of inserting the original key into EIS, you should hear the ESL turned on (Unlocked).
I remember vvdi asked me if ESL is unlocked or not,
if not, you should take it out and then re-insert it into EIS.
Martin Atkinson I don’t remember if it unlocked every time or it asking if the esl was unlocked or not
Frank Keys I was thinking this was the issue also. I had asked previously on here about the esl unlocking and I gathered that it didn't matter if it unlocked at that point, but now I know for sure.
The software specifically asks make sure the esl is synced, yes or no, if you click no a 5 second countdown begins and then it asks same question. So lesson is dont press yes if it hasn't unlocked. I assume you press no and reinsert the key each time until it unlocks, but the software doesn't say to do that.
Martin Atkinson Ahh that was my bad then, I pressed yes and was quite confused as to why the Eis wouldn’t be synched to the car but I know now for future it means is the Eis unlocked
Maf Raoaf Yes m8s, that is the reason.
Yesterday happened with me with W211, and at final stage of reading EIS data, it asked if ESL is UnLocked or Not.
And it was still locked after inserting the original key, so I kept saying No and inserting the key again & again till ESL is Unlocked, then resumed the process by pressing Yes, and everything was Fine with all keys!
